Lawn Bowls
Full sized competition lawn bowls greens are laid using a diagonal turf pattern whilst recreation lawn bowls greens can be laid in a straight turf pattern to save on costs.
Multisport concepts can tailor the size of the lawn bowls green to suit the available space. This is often of great benefit to retirement or nursing homes.
By using synthetic grass not only can the club massively reduce the on going maintenance costs but can use the facility for alternate sports. For example, because synthetic turf is so robust, the club could allow Futsal to be played at night when the green is otherwise unused. This allows a secondary revenue stream for the club and likely enhance bar receipts.
Bowls greens are required to be perfectly level which requires the base to be very well vertically drained. All aspects of the green must be able to cope with the equivalent of a tropical down pour.

Lighting
Floodlights are located so that they will provide the least glare to bowlers.
A corner lighting system is recommended with a minimum lux of 100. The height of the light pole will be specified by our lighting engineer to achieve optimum lighting.
